Penn National Gaming has released updated drawings of its proposed Springfield casino.
The drawings released Sunday involve new designs for an outdoor patio dining region and an expansive plaza entrance towards the hotel and gambling complex.
As Penn National prepares for Monday’s public presentation on the $807 million project, company officials say they released new sketches to demonstrate the seamless hyperlink in between their improvement and downtown Springfield.
The project is among a number of proposals competing for the state’s lone casino in western Massachusetts.
A spokesman for the project tells The Republican the fresh designs would be the direct outcome of feedback received for the duration of the company’s discussions with city leaders. One example is, the new drawings no longer involve sky bridges linking the casino and hotel to Union Station and also the Paramount Theater.
