Gambling online in Singapore is going to be outlawed if your new Bill tabled in Parliament on Monday is passed into law.
The suggested legislation, referred to as Remote Gambling Bill, may also allow it to be illegal to provide such gambling online services to Singaporeans, whether or not they are based here or overseas, and can give government bodies the energy to compel banks along with other payment companies to bar fund transfers back and forth from such websites.
Advertising of internet gambling services may also become illegal in all forms of media.
However, the balance aims to produce an exemption regime, where Singapore-based organisations can use to become excused from all of these limitations. They need to meet certain criteria – such like a non-profit, lead to charitable reasons, and also have a good history of submission with local laws and regulations.
The Secretary of state for Home Matters stated it analyzed the practices of other areas for example Hong Kong, Norwegian and France in crafting the balance, and required into consideration feedback in the public throughout a six-week lengthy consultation exercise.
The Balance is going to be debated in the next available sitting of Parliament.
