High roller gamblers who regularly travel from
Hong Kong to Las Vegas may not have to wait until
they reach the US shores to get into the action.
The Las Vegas Sands Corporation, which owns two
casinos in Nevada, has announced that it has
purchased two aircraft, which it will fit out to
become flying gambling palaces. The plane will
whisk exclusive players off to Las Vegas, allowing
them to spend the fourteen-hour flight playing
their favorite table games while in international
air space.
The Federal Aviation Administration has already
given the green light, saying that there were no
safety issues that specifically prohibit gambling
during flight. The L-1011 will be fitted with the
latest technology to allow patrons to enjoy table
games, including high limit baccarat, on a
credit-basis only. The aircrafts will also be fitted
with digital surveillance cameras and a surveillance
booth.
